Spring Break

For us here in the Jordan Valley
Spring Break only lasts a few days,

but it was enough time for our family
to get away from the city
and explore some of our favorite places.

We did our camping in Green River
but our first day we discovered
a great new hike.

Little Wild Horse Canyon

and the best part of this hike is the slot canyons

that get closer

and closer together.

The kids really enjoyed this hike
including the youngest two
who I thought might get worn out.

After lunch,
and a little rest we visited

Goblin Valley

probably our kids most FAVORITE

place to hang out

and do some climbing.

There is always a lot of red dirt on clothes and in shoes

but it is the perfect place
to play a game of
family hide-n-seek.

The following day
was spent at

Arches National Park

where as a family we hiked the easy route
to get a view of delicate Arch, the kids got a little looney,

and these three found a new perspective of
delicate arch

as they hiked to it.

While I took the other children

to find a few different arches

throughout the park.

Despite the cool weather
it was a great family get away
and one we will return to again in the future.

Boots and a Brush

I enjoy SPRING,
and this spring has been especially wet
with SNOW and RAIN.

And along with all the wet weather
out comes the RAIN BOOTS.
I loved it when my boys were younger and
would stomp around in their rain boots,
and now I enjoy watching our little girl do the same thing.

But I have to admit
the boots seem a little cuter on Miss M.
It has something to with the joining of an adorable little girl in a skirt
and a pair of rain boots.

And "for like the first time EVER",
she LET me brush her hair.
Every morning it is struggle to comb out her hair
as she screams and grabs
and I try to do something with it.

But last week she sat and let me brush it for 5 minutes,
however, that was only because
she was being Rapunzel and needed her "golden" hair brushed.

Another Wolf in the Family

Well he has done it,
he has earned
and received his Wolf Badge in Cub Scouts.

Now he is ready for bigger and better things,
or so he says.

He thought that once he earned his wolf,
he could move right on up to the Bear den.
Unfortunately, that is not how it works.
He will have to wait until he turns nine,
just like all the other boys.

I think the real reason he is so ready to go to bears
is because that is where his best friend is right now,
and he just wants to be in the same den as him.

And together, in the same den, they will be soon enough.

My March Birthday Boy

Look WHO turned 5.
Our little man has decided to keep getting older.

He had a small friend party in which he had to be "Jack Sparrow",
even though it was a LEGO party.

This little beauty joined the party,
and insisted on having her picture taken too.
